No, it's not a joke!!!
In March 2023 the first European planetary rover will land on Mars as part of the ExoMars mission. The rover's landing platform will carry 11 sound recordings, INCLUDING MY MUSIC, in the memory of a Czech scientific instrument. The sound recording that receives the most votes before the ExoMars probe lands on Mars will be transmitted back to Earth. VOTE MY MUSIC!!!
FREE SAMPLES
Here you'll find some original samples for free download, loyalty free for the use in your compositions. If you make a song with some of my samples I will be very happy to listen to it, and/or to have my name and link in the credits
Some of these samlpes were used in my composition, while others were simply recorded because i felt that they were "interesting" to conserve for future use!
If you found these free samples useful, and if you want to support my work, i will appreciate an online small Paypal donation (you decide!)
I have published some samples also on Freesound.orgDo you know do you know the "Smart Lidz" kitchen "toy? it can be used as a wonderful percussion instrument. I did a test as soon as i got them but acually i did not find a suitable way to "hang" them on my desk and improve the "instrument" Later, I have recorded one of them and arranged it into a kontakt 5 patch. You can listen to the demo i made using the kontakt patch. Download the kontakt monolith patch here
Clothes dryer with violin bow.
The original idea is not mine, but was used for Specrasonic Omnisphere. I placed two guitars on a clothes dryer, and i "played" it with a violin bow.Free Kontakt 3 patch: Low drums
.
It is also possible to look at the video of the performance, that i uploaded on youtube. The first experimental recording was done with a minidisc recorder. You can download it in mp3 format.
Then, i took part of this recording and i tried to process it with delay, reverberi, pitch shifer, etc, to obtain something like an "evolving pad":

"rythmic" experiment*** DISCLAIMER ***
I was inspired by a unique sampling technique I saw demonstrated by Spectrasonics for their upcoming "Omnisphere" instrument, so I decided to try to reproduce it myself. Please note however, that I am not involved with Spectrasonics in any way, nor has my work been used for Omnisphere. My samples are not the same as the ones in the Omnisphere core library and are an hobbyst work!!!
Credit for the original "Bowed Drying Rack" concept and recording techniques that were created for Ominsphere should go to another Italian sound designer named Diego Stocco, who is one of the official Spectrasonics sound designers.
A series of samples programmed in a kontakt 3 patch to sound as a low drum, with a "soundtrack" feeling

Alesis DM5 Collection
Alesis DM5 is a "cult" drum module created in 1995. The following ZIP files collect all the DM5 sounds, recorded by Creamware Pulsar. I'd like to remember you that these samlpes DO NOT substitute a real DM5, because they lack velocity sensitivity and they miss the "random" voice bank, which made the DM5 a "classic" drum machine (not to mention the trigger inputs!) If you like to listen to a DM5 you can download its demo.
DM5 Kicks (5.8 MB)
DM5 Snares (7MB)
DM5 Toms (8.3MB)
DM5 Hats (2.5MB)
DM5 Cymbals (7.2MB)
DM5 Percussion (6.3MB)
DM5 Effects (4.1MB)
Real Snare.zip (1.2 MB)
While I was recording a band of some friends of mine, I spent some time in recording with my Creamware Pulsar a real snare. In the ZIP file you will find a large number of hit in wave format, divided by intensity
Cheetah MD16.zip (5.7MB)
Cheetah MD16 is a drum machine created in 1991 which I owned for a short period of time: in the ZIP file you will find all its original sounds, in wave format
Korg MS-20 waveforms
These are the waveforms form the analog synth KORG MS-20, sampled with a Creamware Pulsar. Both the synth's oscillators are present, with all the waveform (except second oscillator's ring modulator). Since the Oscillator 1 pulse width can be modulated with a knob, I sampled 5 types of pulse waveforms.
In the first zip file you will find the looped waveforms, while in the second there are the original takes, unlooped and for experiment!
Korg MS-20 waveforms looped (3.5MB)
Korg MS-20 raw waveforms (7.8MB)
These are the sounds used in the ramake of Zak mc Kracken: all of them were produced by the Thorsten Klose's SID synth. The files are in WAV format, but there is also a patch for the Creamware STS sampler.
CRUMAR VINTAGE STRINGS
These waves were recorded from a vintage keyboard Crumar Multiman-S, and include Cello and Violin (vintage-analog style). Some programs for Creamware STS sampler series are provided.
This sample set was included in the commercial library "Soundcell trilogy", developed by Nucleus Soundlab . The library will be available in spring 2006. The samples which will be included in the library were removed from the site
RAINSTICK
This set of 9 mp3 are the recording of a Rainstick, made in my home (so that perhaps you will hear a little of noise and room ambience) with my Roytek mic. These sounds are very good for creating ambience and long evolving pads!
This sample set will be included in a commercial library developed by Nucleus Soundlab . The library will be available in summer 2006. The samples which will be included in the library were removed from the site
Tibetan Bell
The tibetan bell is cup which can resonate like a crystal glass when a wooden stick is passed along his border. It can produce a very ipnotic sound, and it is used by tibetan monk for meditation. WAVES samples includes 3 "hits" with full decay and 4 drones, three of them with loop. the loops are very long (10-15 seconds), so you can create evolving athmospheres. There is also a kontakt patch that includes also an experiment with the "tone machine", in order to obtain a playable instrument like a flute.

Bells
I have found a common bell, which is dated "1829", and i have recorded some samples of different hits. In the ZIP file you will find 5 WAVs with different hits, all with fulld ecay, and two kontakt patches.

Mighty Hits
Some multisamples of a hit recorded in my cellar, heavily processed in kontakt and with several VST plugins. These sounds try to reproduce the "giant" and massive reverberd percussion you hear in some film-score music. In the ZIP file there are 12 WAVs files and a kontakt patch.

Thai Flute - Demo (500Kb)
A friend of mine brought me a simple flute from thailand. It's a sort of pan flute. I recorded 4 different set of samples and organized them in a Kontakt 2 patch with some custom kontakt script
This sample set was included in the commercial library "Soundcell trilogy", developed by Nucleus Soundlab . The library will be available in spring 2006. The samples which will be included in the library were removed from the site
Thunder Sheet
An experimental recording in my cellar. I applied an el-cheapo piezo sensor to a very thin aluminum sheet, recording its output on my minidisc. The sheet was then hitted and shaked, and the soud obtained was resembling a thundestorm... You can listen to an example in the demo, but beware that i added effects (delay, reverb and compression) and layered the "mighty hits" you can download on this page. Here you can see a photo of my setup
Demo (500Kb)

LOOPS and tracks from EP MAZE - Sogni di mezza estate
This collection of waves comes from my 2003 summer recording sessions of the EP MAZE - Sogni di mezza estate. All the tracks were recorded with BPM=64 with Presonus TuberPre and Roytek Mic.
The ZIP files contains the following:
Fake Didjeridoo 1,2
Glass Sine (sound produced by a finger on the boreder of a crystal glass)
Maracas 1,2
Tamburello

They can be downloaded either in WAVE 44.100Hz mono (9.5MB) or mp3 128kbps (2 MB) format
Following files are synth sounds, created by my Korg 03RW with some Pulsar synth in layer and programmed on Creamware STS3000 sampler. The ZIP file includes a .sts program and the multisamples of the notes in wave format, so that you will be able to arrange a program in your favorite sampler.
