MIDI Switch

I built two simple circuits in order to achieve a basic MIDI signal routing.
The two boxes you see are a simple 2-way switch and a "do it yourself" midi thru box.

SwitchMidi (22K)

The 2-way switch is essentialy a selector, which permit to control the Korg 01RW either with the PC MIDI out or directly fomr my masterkeyboard.
My masterkeyboard has 2 MIDI out: the first is connected to the PC (for the normal home recording use). The second comes to this switch. Also one of the PC midi out is connected to this switch, and thanks to the 2-way selector, i can decide to control the Korg 01RW either with the master or the PC.
This, thanks also to the audio patchbay, permit me to play the Korg 01RW even if the PC is off.

The midi thrubox was built following this scheme found on the net. I needed a thrubox because i had no more MIDI OUT. It permits to "double" the midi signals, and direct it both to one of my synths and to the MIDI BOX controller.

This one is instead a second selector which permit to handle my synths MIDI OUT signals.

MidiOutSelector (26K)

It is build into a PC-power supply case. I added 6 MIDI female connectors and a multi-position switch. Since i have less MIDI IN on my PC that instruments with a MIDI OUT, i ended with the necessity to collect all the MIDI OUT signals from my instruments in this box. Then, with the selector, i can choose which instrument (Korg 01RW, TG77, V-AMP o SID) is physically connected to the PC.

Finally, I have built a MIDI MERGER (following the schemes on www.ucapps.de) integrated in the MIDIBOX: it merges the midi signals coming from the masterkeyboard and from the PC
