The first time I went to china we had a stop in Shangai before going to Nanchino to visit its university. We had a walk towards the river right after our arrival and I immediately found a music instrument shop. I was fascinated by the instrument I saw but I had not so much time to spend there because I was with my collegues. So I decided to buy the most "simple" instrument, a small lute called liu qin.
But just after a few hours, I cursed myself for not buying the erhu! I had to wait the next trip to china to buy the chinese violin!
I manage to play the liu qin more or less like an ukulele, by tuning it in the same way. Definitely not the right way but, nevertheless, very funny!
